Guide
Welcome to The Amberlynn Wiki!
The purpose of this website is to document Amberlynn Reid's life and relationships.
This wiki is only possible by people like you contributing bits of information to build up the whole wiki.
Before deleting or rearranging large sections, discuss changes in the Discussion tab on each page or Discord.
For any site-wide suggestions see Special:Contact, User talk:Admin, or Discord.
What needs to get done
Do you want to contribute to the wiki and you are not sure what to edit? Start here!
- Many of the main eras pages are still blank. Even just a quick outline will help
- The current events can use help, see Template talk:Current
- At the homepage, scroll down to the bottom. Under the table of contents, all of the red links are pages that have not been created yet. Click on one that you are interested to create it. Any amount of information is helpful. With new pages, do not worry about formatting or citations, since it can be cleaned up later.
- I have an in-house CAPTCHA system. Right now, there are only a handful of images. If you are willing to create new CAPTCHA images or have new ideas for it, let me know!
Editing Guidelines
Discussion pages
At the top of every page, there is a discussion tab. This is the place to collaborate on new ideas or plans for the wiki.
If a page is blank, adding any new information is useful and the formatting can be cleaned up later.
If you plan on rearranging or deleting sections, discuss the changes first in the discussion page.
On the top right of the discussion page, the add topic button allows you to add a new topic. Source code editor is not required.
Edits should be in a neutral tone
Commentary belongs on other websites. Wiki's are only used to document the timeline.
- Okay: On April 13th, 2019, Amberlynn uploaded a video where she steps on the scale and the talking scale read the weight 572.4 pounds.
- This would be a good edit, since a specific date is mentioned, details how the weight was taken, and references a primary source.
- Generally try to avoid using words like "it" and "to be" verbs. Action verbs like "uploaded" "steps" and "read" provide more information.
- Not Okay: When Amberlynn claimed to weigh 572.4 pounds, she rigged the scale, since she clearly looked larger than 600 pounds.
- This adds extra commentary about her size and does not provide more primary evidence. It is up to the reader to draw their own conclusions from the pictures.
- Certain sections of the wiki may document common speculation, but this must be in their own section and clearly labeled.
- Okay: A picture from April 13th where she claimed to be 572.4 lbs next to a picture from a later date where she claimed to weigh less.
- This allows the reader to draw their own conclusions if she weighed more or less than the stated maximum weight based on their own interpretations of the pictures.
Use primary sources
Each part of an article should have a citation and provide: Who? What? Where? and When?
Examples of primary sources:
- Videos directly from Amber's Youtube channel, Instagram posts, Tiktok, etc.
- Ex-girlfriends recounting their relationship. As long as the person witnessed a situation directly, they are considered a primary source.
- If they are speculating on a situation that they have not directly encountered, they are now a secondary source.
What not to cite:
- Commentary websites, forums, reaction channels are usually secondary sources, since they provide commentary and not evidence.
- Clip channels like Random Content are okay, but references to the original source are preferred
Media uploads
You cannot upload videos directly to the wiki. Here are a few options:
- For videos that are not deleted yet, linking to the original version on Amberlynn's Youtube is preferred.
- For deleted videos or videos on external sites you may:
- Upload to a secondary Youtube archive channel.
- In case of false copyright strikes, use https://archive.org/. This is the only other sites that can be embedded here
- Some sites like https://preservetube.com/ and https://odysee.com/ are useful, but cannot be directly embedded here
Images can be directly uploaded to the wiki. Place an appropriate file name to make it easier to search
- For text/image citations, use https://archive.ph/ since this is the most secure for archiving
Usage of LLMs
LLMs, AI, etc are generally not allowed
- Using an LLM to generate whole paragraphs is not a good idea, since they source their data from commentary websites.
- Using an LLM to reword individual sentences are okay, especially if you are struggling to remove "it" and "to be" verbs. Please make sure that your original idea stays intact.
Formatting Tips and Tricks
To start a new page, type the name of the page you want to make in the search bar and click on create the page.
Use piping to help readers understand the wiki, see this guide: https://sonichu.com/cwcki/Help:A_Guide_to_Piping
To insert a citation, go into source editor, and type <ref>Citation link, including date, author, etc</ref>. Test[1]
To insert a Youtube video, click on "Edit source" and insert <youtube>ID</youtube>
- For example, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVOUnw4Kv-g&pp=ygUOYW1iZXJseW5uIHJlaWTSBwkJvwCDtaTen9Q%3D would have the ID vVOUnw4Kv-g
- Be careful to not edit other components in source editor, since the parser is very tricky to use
To use these templates type {{ into the editor and a prompt will appear. Templates that you may use: Speculation, Unfinished, On-Going-Drama, Citation-Needed, Major-Change

Video of the Now: Any reaction channel, video, clips, etc that is relevant from the past week.
